Compounded drugs are identical to the brand name product except they are combined with other components
(B12, L-carnitine, or BPC-157).

The compounded drugs can be just as effective (possibly more effective) for weight loss but much more affordable. Due to the addition of other components, (B12, L-carnitine, or BPC-157), they can possibly increase efficacy and tolerance. This is because the dosage can be adjusted up or down due to tolerability and/or side effects.
It can also be adjusted to maximize weight loss. Some of the added components may also lessen the side effects and increase weight loss. Here are some of the added components available:

L-Carnitine is a naturally occurring amino acid that has been shown to help the body burn fat for energy and may increase efficacy and fat loss.

B12 is a water-soluble vitamin that has been shown to possibly aid in weight loss and may decrease GI side effects such as nausea.

BPC 157 (Body Protection Compound 157) is a peptide that is known to promote gut health and accelerate the healing of muscles and other bodily tissues. It also may help with stomach upset.

The brand name medications (Wegovy®/Ozempic®/Mounjaro®) come in pre-filled pens which cannot be adjusted- so you could be taking too much or too little of the medication for the entire 4 weeks. This causes possible decreased efficacy and can increase side effects.

By using compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide, the medications can be personalized to maximize weight loss but adjusted to keep side effects minimal.
